Boredom. And firecrackers.

In my part of the world, life is currently non-existent. When I say my part of the world, I mean that fraction of a space where I live – under a rock. Here, the reigning king, His Highness Exam III, has put a ban on all things good and this includes the will to exist.
I hope you can forgive me for not visiting your blogs. It is hard to resist, but once I start perusing the blogosphere, I hardly ever go back to what I should be doing (drowning in 7.65 tons of literature). But I’ll get right to it as soon as I’m done with my exams. So while I battle my existential crisis, here’s a little treat for you guys.

Dear

For Mercy has a human heart;
Pity, a human face;
And Love, the human form divine:
And Peace the human dress.

-from The Divine Image by William Blake

dear,
your slightly parted lips – I cannot see
their hues, but know they are not unlike
the Dame Edith Helen I once kissed,
roseate and velvety – only slightly parted,
promising a mellifluous voice to charm
us all: the amazement of a thought
sketched out thus and captured.

If I were that ear-ring, brushing
against your soft skin, heavens
couldn’t tempt me, but I am a mere
painter of words, sitting here,
wondering if you would tell me
what amused you so.

My first post after my longest hiatus from the blog ever since its conception is something that has been in planning for a rather long time, a whole month in fact, but took so long because I was never satisfied with the poem I wrote to accompany the picture. No, I’m still not satisfied, I don’t believe it does justice to the subject of this picture, but my exams are over and I had to start somewhere. 🙂

My inbox tells me I missed some 500 odd posts from my fellow bloggers. I will try and read as many as possible over the course of the next few days. If I miss out anything, consider my sincere apologies in advance.

There are certain other things I want to talk about but those will have to wait for another post because I really am in a hurry to hit publish now.

Cheers,

Kriti free-bird Sharma

PS: Credit for this intriguing style of signing of goes to Amritorupa . Trust me, you want to visit her site. 🙂

And I’ll know you
Kiss me ’til you’re drunk
And I’ll show you

Yes, all my posts of late have been from the Rock Garden in Chandigarh, but you see, I just haven’t had the time to take my camera out for a little spin. The one time I did, I ended up clicking a graduation party who aren’t quite game to have their pictures up on my blog. I promise, as soon as these exams end, I am going on a photography spree with a vengeance! Till then, I’ll keep fishing out old photographs that never saw the light of the day and keep posting; sporadically, of course.

And I apologise in advance if I miss any of your posts this month. You have Language and Linguistics 0201 to blame.
