Last evening, we had a visitor

A very patient one, mind you. The pictures haven’t come out great for I don’t have a macro lens or filter. I merely flipped my 18-55mm  to get closer.

I’d appreciate if someone could help me identify the species. I am utterly clueless.

(Update: I am told that it is Calliphora vomitoria vicina- blue bottle fly)

    • Wasn’t eega was supposed to be a simple housefly? I’m not sure, I may be mistaken… This one was not only considerably larger than a regular housefly, it had a distinct blue-green shiny back (?) which I’ve never seen in a housefly.

  1. Eyes look like that of a fruit fly, but body of a bottle-green housefly
Could be from the Muscomorpha or the Calyptrate family.
    Good luck defining it 😛
